about

Didn't know where I was going with this, just kept writing and got to a weird place. I like that unforeseen flow-of-consciousness storytelling because often I'll think "that's pretty Lynch" or something totally bewildering like Ito. No explanations (for here and now) just a very frightening and unusual scenario.

lyrics

The old house in the forest seemed desolate to me
But they say within its decrepit walls there lives a strange family
When I decided to snoop about, spying from the trees
I thought I could hear a moaning sound carried on the chilling breeze

The sound was quite disturbing, a croaking moan that made me ill
Was someone in there very sick or was someone being killed?
I was terrified but I crept inside, praying that I wouldn’t die
The stench was terrible and the sound was unbearable, a hideous, desperate cry
In the darkness of the basement my eyes adjusted to the sight
Of a single oblong box with a pale decrepit body inside

Sickly it moaned and twitched with desperate deathly pleas
I nearly fainted from the horror when I saw what there was where her legs should be
From the waist down there extended a tubular fleshy mass
Festooned from the coffin’s confines and linked to a creature hulking in the darkness
