Richard and Eric are gutting a doe carcass when Rachel, a girl from a neighboring farm, stumbles into the barn. At the sight of the carcass she passes out, as her murderous pursuer steps out from the darkness. Even after being shot twice, the man is still after the girl, and the two men flee with Rachel in an effort to bring her to safety.

Rachel's adoptive parents are dead, and may have been involved with the cabal that seeks the girl's blood. The man who refuses to die is aided by a shadowy woman who tracks them, but with the help of Adam, a local convenience store clerk, they may throw off the scent and reach a haven. Even if they do reach safety, the threat is immense. Eventually, uncovering the sinister force behind Rachel's origins will become a dangerous and terrifying obligation.
